Fall fashion trends: purple, plaid, tweed, and lace

Fall fashion trends: purple, plaid, tweed, and lace

Fall Fashions have arrived and it's a lot of the same-old, same-old we've been seeing the last couple of years, with a few exceptions.  This season is all about textures.  Check out this site for all the fashion shows this fall, from Milan to London to New York City.  Here are some highlights from this season's runways. Purple- the new black for the season- is showing up every where on the runways.  Once the preferred color of frumpy high school English teachers, now purple is all the rage. Plaids- isn't it still too soon to bring back the 90s?  Apparently not, Marc Jacobs is going grunge this season with some plaid pieces that look like they came from the Goodwill.  Charlotte Ronson's plaid mini-dress is a better interpretation of the grunge-inspired look. Tweeds- my favorite fall textile is brought up to-date by Chanel, and beautifully done by Ralph Lauren as well.  This versatile material can be paired with any of the afore-mentioned trends. Lace- a romantic classic making a come-back this fall.  Luisa Beccaria and Chanel offered the more classier looks in lace: evening dresses and lace ensembles in earthy tones were the winners.
